Siri AI brings drafting and editing tools to iPad

·1 min read

Siri AI (Beta) lets iPad users compose, rewrite, proofread and get feedback on their writing. Users can select text and describe a change or choose options such as Proofread and Rewrite. They can also activate Siri directly to request a draft, reorganize a document or condense meeting notes into key points.

The feature requires iPadOS 27 or later on an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPad mini (A17 Pro) or an iPad model with M1 or later, set to a supported language. Siri AI is available in English to start and will not initially be available in the EU on iPadOS. Users without Siri AI can use Writing Tools to improve and summarize content.

Rewrite includes a comparison view for reviewing changes against the original. Swiping down on Siri’s answer opens a conversation for follow-up questions and further revisions. Screen Time settings control which Siri features are accessible and what content Siri can access. Daily usage limits apply to certain server-based Apple Intelligence features, including Siri AI, and may vary with request complexity, demand and other factors. Expanded access will be available for a fee in the future.
