Apple unveils HomeView smart home hub with Siri AI

·1 min read

Apple has announced HomeView, a smart home hub available in two versions: tabletop and wall-mounted. Both feature a 7-inch Liquid Retina display with True Tone. The tabletop model adds a domed speaker base with a down-firing woofer and a tilting stainless steel hinge.

The hub runs on an A18 chip with Secure Exclaves, which Apple says separates camera and microphone data from the rest of the system. Its new Siri AI remains in beta. Personal context features require a paired Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone or iPad, while some server-side capabilities have daily limits. Apple plans to offer paid expanded access later.

HomeView can recognize up to six people by face and provide each with a personalized Home Screen. Smart home controls support Matter accessories and Apple’s new Home Collection, developed with LG and Schneider Electric and arriving in December.
