Apple details Siri AI beta for supported iPhones
Apple’s Siri AI beta adds a more conversational assistant with personal context understanding, onscreen awareness, and broad world knowledge. The feature can search photos, mail, messages, calendar entries, and other content to answer questions such as finding trip photos or checking when to leave for a pickup.
Siri AI is available in beta on iOS 27 or later on an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, or iPhone 16 model or later with Siri and device language set to a supported language. It is available in English to start, and Siri AI will not initially be available in the EU on iOS.
New capabilities include Siri mode in Camera, which uses Visual Intelligence to identify objects, answer questions, search from the camera frame, and support actions such as splitting a bill or importing a card to Apple Wallet. Siri can also respond to what is on the iPhone screen, add recipe ingredients to a shopping list, draft or revise text, summarize information, and keep conversations accessible in a dedicated Siri app.
Apple says usage limits may apply, and certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models are subject to daily usage limits. Expanded access to some features will be available for a fee in the future, and Siri is designed to protect user information with controls over what is shared.
