Meta pauses Muse sharing as Anthropic faces compute pressure

·1 min read

Meta paused a Muse conversation-sharing feature after researchers found shared chat URLs publicly available on the web. Exposed conversations included personal and business information. Separately, OpenAI introduced a ChatGPT feature that lets users lock chats, designed to keep sensitive conversations private when they hand their device to someone else.

Anthropic is reportedly struggling to secure enough computing capacity from cloud providers that increasingly view it as a competitor, while its infrastructure spending grows ahead of a planned November IPO. Nscale and Anthropic are also reportedly discussing another $45 billion compute deal. Google joined Amazon in releasing a developer tool intended to help PyTorch users move applications off Nvidia GPUs.

OpenAI is acquiring Orchestra Bio to bring AI-powered operations to life sciences research and help biopharma teams accelerate drug development. Meanwhile, the US ordered federal civilian agencies to remove DeepSeek products and third-party services built on its technology, citing national security concerns.
