·1 min read

Apple has announced a new 14-inch MacBook Pro powered by M6, targeting students, business users and creators. The chip includes a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU. Apple says it delivers up to 30 percent faster graphics and up to 25 percent faster AI workloads compared with M5. For users upgrading from M1, Apple claims up to 11x faster graphics and up to 13x faster AI performance.

Additional Neural Accelerators in the GPU and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine support on-device AI tasks, including running LLMs locally. The laptop also supports Siri AI and Apple Intelligence features across apps and macOS, with an emphasis on preserving user privacy.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, while faster storage is designed to support large files, project exports and demanding AI workflows. Apple claims battery life of up to 24 hours and says the laptop maintains the same performance whether plugged in or running on battery.
