TSMC reports record August revenue as chip demand rises

·1 min read

TSMC reported record August revenue, with sales rising 10.1% from July as demand for advanced silicon and packaging remained strong. The company also reported a 53.3% increase compared with August 2025, signaling continued customer commitments to newer manufacturing nodes and tolerance for higher wafer pricing.

Revenue from January to August indicates an unusually strong year, although the update did not include the detailed node-by-node breakdown typically found in quarterly reports. In Q2, the N2 node accounted for 3% of TSMC’s revenue, while the 3 nm node contributed 30% and the 5 nm node led with 33%. Orders tied to Apple’s iPhone A20 Pro SoC are expected to lift the share of 2 nm revenue significantly.
