SAP to acquire TechWolf for workforce intelligence
SAP has agreed to acquire TechWolf, an applied AI company that maps workforce skills and helps enterprises understand how AI is changing work. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval. Financial terms were not disclosed.
TechWolf uses data from connected HR and business systems to build a continuously updated picture of employee tasks, skills and the external labor market. Its proprietary context graph for work connects that information with business strategy to support hiring, reskilling and redeployment. SAP plans to bring the graph, TechWolf’s AI models and its applied AI research team into the company.
The technology is expected to become a core component of SAP SuccessFactors, supporting workforce planning, talent management and organizational redesign. SAP says the context graph will help ground workforce-agent queries, improve token efficiency, reduce deployment costs and strengthen Joule’s capabilities in HR scenarios. The companies also plan to develop new workforce and skills optimization products after closing.
Subject to closing and required consultation, SAP plans for TechWolf to remain an independent entity led by CEO Andreas De Neve at its Ghent headquarters, retaining offices in London, New York and San Francisco. Its platform would remain available to SAP and non-SAP customers.
