Lakeridge Health reaches HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 as VA expands EHR

Lakeridge Health in Canada has achieved HIMSS EMRAM Stage 7 accreditation for its use of electronic medical records, clinical workflows, data sharing, analytics and clinical decision support. The organisation credited investments including bar code medication administration, integrated diagnostic imaging, MyChart and Epic for supporting safer care, stronger coordination and more efficient operations.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs deployed the federal EHR system to three VA hospitals in Indiana and 16 associated clinics. The department said the rollout brings the total to 11 hospitals so far this year, with over 617,000 veterans and 35,000 VA clinicians and staff now using the system. VA also introduced VA ChatEHR, an AI chatbot that has answered more than 53,000 questions from over 8,000 users since April 2026.

Health AI company M42 signed a ten-year partnership with Botswana’s Ministry of Health focused on digital health transformation, genomics, precision medicine and capacity development. ChristianaCare is preparing for its Epic EHR go-live in October 2026, while DocGo agreed to acquire Hicuity Health through the assumption of debt estimated at approximately $52 million at closing and maturing in December 2029.
