Google AI Mode adds ongoing alerts for custom requests

·1 min read

Google’s AI Mode in Search can now continuously monitor specific requests and notify users when their conditions are met. Tasks can track product restocks and price drops, follow research breakthroughs and official announcements, discover local events, or watch for ticket releases and discounted passes. Shopping alerts include links to complete purchases on merchants’ websites.

On iPhone and iPad, users can start through AI Mode in the Google app or access it on the web. A detailed prompt becomes a monitoring task, with follow-up questions asked when clarification is needed. Users can revise instructions conversationally, stop updates by asking AI Mode to delete a task, or manage tasks through their thread history or the Google app’s Inbox.

The feature is available to users 18 or older in all countries, territories and languages where AI Mode is available. It requires a personal Google Account that users manage themselves, with the history setting enabled. Alerts arrive in the Google app and may appear on a locked device depending on notification settings. Google cautions that AI responses may contain mistakes.
