AMD forecast points to quarterly revenue lead over Intel

·1 min read

AMD expects to generate more quarterly revenue than Intel for what appears to be the first time, based on the companies’ Q4 forecasts. The bottom of AMD’s projected revenue range exceeds the top of Intel’s, putting AMD on track to move ahead unless results diverge substantially from guidance. The outlook follows AMD’s record Q3 2026 results.

Data center demand is driving most of AMD’s growth. Its Data Center segment posted record revenue in Q3, up 97% year over year, supported by strong EPYC demand and the launch of Instinct MI450 Series GPUs inside Helios racks. AMD expects the segment to grow about 50% sequentially in Q4, while Client and Gaming revenue is expected to drop by more than 20%.

Intel’s Q4 revenue outlook fell well below expectations. A two-week shutdown at Fab 28 in Israel contributed to the weaker forecast, with Intel expecting the disruption to reduce revenue during the quarter.
