NVIDIA partners link grids and data centers to ease power constraints

·1 min read

Companies are adopting the NVIDIA DSX AI Factory Platform to plan, simulate and operate electricity grids and AI facilities as an integrated system. Over 200 gigawatts of projects are waiting in U.S. interconnection queues, while independently designed grid, facility and computing systems contribute to delays and stranded capacity.

DSX Sim and SimReady assets let engineers validate power and cooling infrastructure before construction. DSX Flex coordinates computing demand with grid conditions and onsite generation, while DSX MaxLPS and DSX Exchange support computing efficiency and information sharing across energy, cooling, networking and operations.

GE Vernova is contributing grid-to-facility and rack power expertise, while Hitachi Energy’s battery storage system has qualified as NVIDIA DSX Ready. Schneider Electric, AVEVA and ETAP are advancing validated Vera Rubin power and cooling reference architectures and an Omniverse-powered digital twin. Siemens Energy is developing a reference design spanning power generation, transmission and distribution, and exploring NVIDIA technologies for infrastructure monitoring and outage prevention.

Phaidra integrated DSX tools into its self-learning agents to optimize cooling and power allocation, delivering about 10% more compute within the same power envelope. Emerald AI integrated its Conductor platform into DSX Flex to help utilities access underused capacity, an approach modeled to unlock up to 100 gigawatts on the existing U.S. grid.
