Salesforce embeds Slack in CRM and agent workflows

·1 min read

Salesforce describes Slack as the place where teams, CRM data, Salesforce records and AI agents come together to keep work aligned and customer-focused. Slack is now included with every new Salesforce org, with no setup required, and is designed to bring customer context directly into channels, threads and shared workspaces.

The platform connects collaboration tools with AI features across channels, huddles, clips, canvases, lists and workflows. Teams can organize work by project, customer or initiative, use AI-generated huddle notes and summaries, assign owners, set due dates, automate triage and use AI-powered search to find relevant conversations, files and company knowledge.

Slackbot is positioned as a personal AI agent that can answer questions, summarize threads, take action across connected tools and highlight important work. Agentforce and other enterprise AI agents can operate inside Slack to trigger tasks, monitor activity, update CRM records, route approvals and support multi-system workflows without requiring users to leave the conversation.

Enterprise controls are central to the offering, including governance, data residency, security controls, app and agent permissions, single sign-on, enterprise mobility management and data loss prevention. Salesforce says agents only access permitted data and channels, actions are auditable, and customer data is not used to train underlying models.
