Palantir expands app building, model access and data controls
Palantir’s October 2026 updates make Pilot generally available for building React applications and Workshop widgets through natural-language prompts. The tool combines Ontology modeling, live previews, editable source code and guided deployment. Global Branching support also expands across Developer Console and functions, allowing teams to test application, code and Ontology changes together before merging.
New AIP controls let administrators restrict model access through an allowlist of approved mandatory markings. Checks cover every mandatory marking available to a user’s session, not just the data submitted to a model, and apply to agents including AI FDE. Users with broader access can switch to a compliant scoped session where available. AIP Analyst adds organization defaults, group-assigned skills, model categories and a compact conversation view.
Model availability expands with GPT-6.1 Terra, GPT-6.1 Sol, Claude Haiku 5.5, Gemini 4 Argon and GLM-5.3, with access varying by provider and enrollment. OpenAI’s Decisions API also gains support through Direct OpenAI for classification, routing and prioritization. Additional Google, NVIDIA and Anthropic models reach supported US Government enrollments.
Pipeline Builder gains reusable subgraphs, clearer explanations of deployment-blocking state breaks, and Iceberg input and output support in Faster pipelines. Incremental Iceberg inputs remain unsupported there. Foundry Worker removes compute charges for data ingest and export, media ingest and Iceberg extract operations from August 2026 onward, without credits for prior charges; streaming ingestion remains billable. Workshop also gains generally available Ontology interface support, though some widgets remain unsupported.
