NAND Flash shortages may ease in 2027

·1 min read

TrendForce expects the NAND Flash storage supply chain to return to balance by 2027, making it one of the few computing component categories projected to stabilize. Demand for NAND Flash and SSD storage products that rely on it is still expected to exceed supply through the rest of 2026, with about a 4-6% supply deficit remaining this year.

The second half of 2027 is expected to bring normal supply conditions as SK hynix, Micron, Samsung, YMTC and other suppliers expand output. Higher monthly wafer production and process node upgrades are expected to increase availability after an extended period of constrained supply.

Consumer demand is also helping narrow the gap, with higher electronics prices tied to DRAM and NAND Flash shortages discouraging some hardware purchases. Enterprise demand remains strong, with servers consuming about 40% of output, while smartphones and notebooks together account for more than 40%.
