MEPs back copyright safeguards for creative work in AI

MEPs adopted recommendations aimed at protecting copyrighted creative work from use by AI. The measures were approved by 460 votes to 71, and with 88 abstentions.

The recommendations reflect concern over how AI systems use creative content and the impact on the EU’s creative sector. MEPs believe EU copyright law should apply to AI systems.
