Hue aligns digital workforce training with business demand

Hue City is shifting digital workforce development from supply-led education to training shaped by market demand and business hiring needs. Universities and vocational institutions are working with government agencies and companies to expose students to workplace technologies earlier, improve job readiness, and reduce the need for retraining after recruitment.

Vietsoftpro Group JSC has proposed cooperation with Hue University on specialized programs for cultural industries linked to technologies such as 3D digitalization, AR/VR, AI, immersive design, and 3D mapping. The effort targets potential third and fourth-year students in information technology, multimedia, culture, arts, tourism, and communications, with qualified graduates considered for long-term employment in Hue.

The city’s demand for digital talent now extends beyond software into electronics, automation, semiconductors, supporting industries, smart healthcare, digital tourism, and cultural industries. By 2030, Hue aims to create approximately 50,000 skilled workers for key industries and expand the information technology and digital industries workforce to around 120,000.

Hue is also preparing training foundations in electronics, integrated circuits, automation, and information technology, though shortages remain in integrated circuit design, semiconductor technology, electronic materials, and automation. Local policy priorities include stronger university-business cooperation, advanced engineering training, high-quality vocational education, early STEM education, and incentives to attract and retain experts, scientists, and engineers.
