Governance and agents shape enterprise analytics

·1 min read

SAS is making AI governance central to its agent strategy, with tools promising centralized oversight of models, agents, and data. DevRev is targeting worker productivity and data integration with an AI agent offering, while Microsoft has added data agents to Fabric to help business users with analytics.

Other enterprise deployments focus on specific workflows. Adobe Experience Platform has introduced an AI assistant to synthesize customer data for marketing, answer technical questions, and automate some tasks. Checkr switched from a larger generative AI model to a smaller model for background checks, finding the smaller option better suited to its accuracy and speed requirements. Microsoft has also introduced Copilot templates for retailers building personalized shopping experiences.

Governance concerns extend beyond model selection. New York City’s law governing automated hiring tools requires regular audits to check for gender and racial bias. In healthcare, Prisma’s chief medical officer sees opportunities to improve care and reduce administrative burdens, but cautions against replacing doctors.
