Adobe to acquire Topaz Labs for video enhancement tools

·1 min read

Adobe has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Texas-based Topaz Labs, adding AI tools for upscaling, sharpening, stabilization, frame interpolation, noise removal and footage restoration to its creative software portfolio. Topaz products, including Topaz Photo, Topaz Video, Topaz Gigapixel, Astra and Bloom, are used by 20 of the world’s 50 largest companies and “millions of customers.”

Topaz Labs will continue selling its products as standalone offerings through its website after the transaction closes. Subscriptions currently start at $12/mo and scale to $34/mo for unlimited access to all Topaz Labs tools. CEO Eric Yang will remain in place to lead the team.

Adobe plans to integrate Topaz technology across Adobe Firefly, Firefly Services and Creative Cloud apps, building on earlier work that brought Topaz image and video upscalers into Firefly AI in July 2025. Topaz’s AI technology received a Technology & Engineering Emmy Award in December 2025 for high-quality television catalog restoration.

The deal also gives Adobe Topaz Labs’ Neurostream technology, announced in March 2026, which Topaz says can reduce VRAM memory demands for large AI models by up to 95%. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approval, and no purchase price was disclosed.
