NVIDIA expands broadcaster sovereignty framework and Adobe video search
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and NVIDIA are expanding their sovereign framework for public service media to include cloud providers, open model developers and systems integrators. The initiative will define requirements and reference architectures for deploying AI agents while retaining control over data, infrastructure, models and security, with editorial independence and service resilience as priorities.
Microsoft will contribute expertise from Microsoft Sovereign Cloud, including Azure Local and Foundry Local, to support local processing and continuity when external connectivity fails. Nebius offers European infrastructure for training, fine-tuning and running broadcasters’ models. NVIDIA Nemotron open models provide a customizable foundation, while Qvest and other integrators will help make deployments practical and interoperable.
Separately, Adobe is using NVIDIA GPUs to accelerate Frame.io video search and media ingest. Its pipeline combines NVDEC video decoding, TensorRT inference and CUDA preprocessing and embedding generation. Adobe reports about 5x faster embedding generation, up to 4x higher throughput and up to 5x lower latency for search processing. A new two-frame-per-second proxy is about 80% smaller than the 360p version it replaces.
German producer UFA uses Frame.io to locate specific moments within extensive video archives. Semantic search identifies footage by concept, action or setting, while hybrid search incorporates notes, transcripts and approval status, helping editors find relevant clips and move into review.
