Amélie AI tutor shortlisted for QS education award
Amélie Socratic AI Tutor has been shortlisted for the AI Innovation in Education Award at the QS Reimagine Education Awards 2026. Developed by Audrey Picard at ESCP Business School’s London Campus, the project uses Socratic dialogue to help students engage more deeply with written feedback.
First developed in 2024 and tested in French courses at ESCP London Campus, Amélie is designed to avoid simply rewriting student work or supplying correct answers. Using students’ original submissions and teacher feedback, the chatbot asks questions, offers targeted hints, and requires learners to explain their reasoning before moving forward.
Early classroom use with postgraduate students studying French has produced encouraging results, including improved performance between coursework and final examinations for students using a more structured version of the tool. ESCP plans to extend the project to all postgraduate French classes during the 2026-27 academic year, while further testing will assess outcomes across larger cohorts.
The next phase will focus on giving educators clearer visibility into student interactions while reducing the time needed to review transcripts, including a planned dashboard that summarizes reflections and highlights interaction patterns.
