Apple prepares Siri overhaul for WWDC 2026

Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference, set to kick off on June 8, is expected to focus heavily on AI as investors look for proof that the company can deliver on earlier promises. JPMorgan analyst Samik Chatterjee identified a “material overhaul” of Siri as the main highlight, while Goldman Sachs expects Apple to detail an AI-enhanced Siri and confirm a launch later this year.

The revamped Siri is expected to become a standalone application with conversational abilities, multi-turn interactions, and contextual understanding designed to rival large language models such as ChatGPT and Gemini. Expected features include cross-app multi-step commands, on-screen awareness, a Visual Intelligence camera mode, and AI photo editing tools. Goldman Sachs expects the rollout to arrive alongside iOS 27 and the iPhone 18 series this September.

Apple may also add a multi-model provider selection system inside Apple Intelligence, allowing users to switch among different AI models for Siri, writing tools, and image generation. Goldman Sachs argues AI could restart the iPhone replacement cycle, noting iPhone revenue grew 23% year-on-year in the first half of this year. Market reports also point to a possible foldable iPhone with an 8.3-inch foldable OLED screen, a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a 2TB storage option, and a starting price exceeding $1,500.
