Samsung partners with Mistral AI for chip operations

·1 min read

Samsung Electronics has entered a strategic partnership with Mistral AI to strengthen semiconductor engineering and manufacturing capabilities across its chip operations. Announced during the state summit in Paris between South Korea and France, the collaboration will bring Mistral’s AI services and solutions, including its flagship large language model Mistral Large, into Samsung’s semiconductor infrastructure.

The companies plan to develop customized on-premises AI models for intelligence-driven chip operations. Samsung said keeping these enterprise systems within its own semiconductor environment will help protect sensitive technology and operational data while providing the flexibility needed for mission-critical workloads.

Samsung expects targeted AI models to support rapid fab data analysis, defect detection, equipment optimization, faster development cycles, manufacturing precision, and yield stabilization across advanced memory and logic chips. The company has also led Mistral AI’s Series D funding round, securing a strategic equity stake intended to support long-term technology collaboration across advanced memory, logic, and foundry services.
