Reco launches Browser Guard for shadow AI controls

Reco has made Browser Guard generally available, introducing a browser-based security product aimed at managing employee use of AI assistants, coding tools and automated agents. The product monitors prompts and agent activity in the browser, applying policy controls before sensitive data is shared or unauthorised actions occur.

The product targets shadow AI, where staff use unapproved services such as Claude, Copilot and Gemini through corporate or personal accounts. Reco said Browser Guard can identify AI tools, browser extensions and personal accounts outside approved use, while showing who is using them and whether business information is being shared.

Reco said the product evaluates agent actions as well as employee prompts, reflecting the risk that agents may access files, retrieve context or trigger workflows after an initial instruction. The company positions Browser Guard as part of its agent ecosystem security approach, connecting browser activity with broader context from applications, identities, permissions and workflows.

Reco said its wider platform includes more than 280 application integrations and 1,000 detection controls. Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Ofer Klein said security teams need to understand what data enters each interaction, what an agent can reach and whether its next action should be allowed.
