Real product photos help prevent label drift in AI videos
AI video tools can alter product labels, logos, colors and proportions because they redraw the product during generation. Compositing a real product cutout into every final frame avoids generating the product itself, preserving its appearance while AI creates the surrounding scene. Animating a still image that already includes the product can improve consistency, but the model still redraws it and may introduce changes.
Practical safeguards include moving the camera rather than rotating the product, supplying multiple reference angles when generation is unavoidable, and checking every frame for altered packaging or text. These techniques draw on individual users’ experiences rather than controlled testing, and some recommendations come from people who work on AI tools.
Amazon Ads offers Video Generator free with unlimited video creation through its Sponsored Brands workflow and Creative tools tab. Availability expanded to all US advertisers in June 2025, but Amazon’s guidance gives conflicting information about other markets. Shopify accepts product video uploads up to 10 minutes long, up to 1 GB and up to 4K (4096 x 2160 px), in MP4, MOV or WebM format. Linked YouTube or Vimeo videos do not have to meet those upload limits.
