Nvidia weighs OpenAI financing as Prentis targets enterprise agents

Nvidia is reportedly discussing around $250 billion in financing guarantees to support OpenAI’s data center buildout, a project expected to exceed $500 billion. The move would further bind two of the sector’s most important companies as OpenAI pushes to control more of its computing infrastructure.

Prentis, co-founded by LinkedIn founder Reid Hoffman and Zynga founder Mark Pincus, is reportedly raising $100 million at a $1 billion valuation. The startup is building AI agents for enterprise workflow automation, has signed contracts worth up to $50 million, and is developing lower-cost models to compete with OpenAI, Anthropic, and other enterprise providers.

Anthropic released Opus 5, a flagship model that outperforms Fable 5 on several benchmarks while lowering costs and easing some safety restrictions. The company also added Automatic Fallbacks, which routes blocked requests to a less restrictive model to help developers avoid errors.

Midjourney acquired social astrology app Co-Star, bringing in a team of around two dozen employees as it looks beyond image and video generation. Co-Star has about 4.3 million monthly active users and could help Midjourney accelerate work on a standalone consumer app beyond Discord.
