North Lanarkshire secures £300m AI growth investment

North Lanarkshire is set for new jobs and investment after the UK Government confirmed a £300m package to develop the area’s AI Growth Zone. Dell Technologies will base its Scottish team at the Strathclyde Business Park AI Innovation Park, adding a major technology presence to the planned development.

North Lanarkshire Council leader Jim Logue said the AI Growth Zone and Innovation Park would be “powerful catalysts for growth,” helping local businesses make AI a strategic priority, improve productivity and customer experience, attract inward investment, and strengthen communities. The wider development is expected to support the creation of 3,400 jobs and new skills and training opportunities. Scottish Government Economy Secretary Stephen Flynn called the investment a milestone in creating Scotland’s first AI Growth Zone, citing more than 3,400 new jobs and private investment totalling more than £8bn.
