Indiana State makes Microsoft Copilot available campuswide

Indiana State University is making Microsoft Copilot AI tools available to its campus community through the Office of Information Technology. The university has adopted Copilot within its Microsoft 365 environment to support productivity, creativity, research, learning, and content creation while aligning with campus technology standards and data protection requirements.

Microsoft Copilot Chat is available to all faculty, staff, and students at no additional cost. The tool supports AI-powered conversations, brainstorming, writing help, summarization, research assistance, and other productivity features inside Microsoft’s secure environment.

Faculty and staff who need deeper integration with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams can request a Microsoft 365 Copilot license through OIT. Requests require supervisory approval, cost approximately $20/mo, and mandatory training must be completed before a license is assigned.
