IBM adds autonomous operations and compact Power server
IBM announced IBM Power Autonomous Operations, an AI agent designed to continuously monitor Power systems and resolve issues autonomously to help keep enterprise operations running smoothly. The capability works alongside the recently launched IBM Bob Premium Package for i, which uses agentic-driven software to speed application development on IBM i.
The company also introduced the entry-level Power S1112 server, positioning it as a compact and efficient system powerful enough to run AI inference locally. IBM said the additions extend autonomous IT across the Power platform, from code to runtime, as AI becomes part of mission-critical infrastructure.
IBM Power remains focused on enterprise workloads across on-premises and IBM Cloud environments. Power11 was introduced last year for availability, resiliency, and scale, while IBM Power Virtual Server provides a fully managed cloud service for running AIX, IBM i and Linux workloads with less routine system management.
