ChatGPT workspace agents support shared workflows for Business and Enterprise
ChatGPT workspace agents let Business and Enterprise teams create reusable agents for repeatable tasks and workflows. Builders can start from templates or the agent builder, preview behavior before publishing, choose tools and apps, add files and skills, configure schedules, and make agents available privately, by link, or through an organization directory.
Agents can connect to apps including Google Calendar, Google Drive, Slack, and SharePoint, as well as custom MCPs and tools such as image generation and web search. Authentication can use an end-user account or an agent-owned account, with OpenAI recommending service accounts and least-privilege access for shared connections. Write action approvals and Connector Action Constraints provide additional controls over risky actions, though constraints do not filter the data returned by connectors.
Teams can run agents from ChatGPT, Slack, scheduled jobs, or API triggers. API triggers queue a run and return 202 Accepted with no response body, and the response cannot currently be retrieved through the API. Collaboration features allow owners to grant Can chat or Can edit access to teammates or workspace groups, while admins can manage role-based controls for agent access, building, publishing, personal connections, and Slack bot availability.
