Bryant launches free AI training for Rhode Island small businesses

·1 min read

Bryant University and U.S. Senator Jack Reed announced $1.6 million in federal funding to provide free applied AI training and consulting for Rhode Island small businesses. Delivered through Bryant’s Applied AI Academy, part of its Executive Education and Career Accelerator, the program aims to help businesses adopt AI responsibly, improve productivity, increase revenue, and become more competitive.

The funding will expand Bryant’s AI Faculty Fellows Program, support new training and technology resources, and provide technical assistance and implementation support. Training will be tailored to sectors including health care, manufacturing, and professional services. Bryant is also investing in facilities, infrastructure, and resources for its new AI Accelerator Hub within the Business Entrepreneurship Leadership Center.

Reed secured the federal earmark through the fiscal year 2026 appropriations law. The John H. Chafee Center for International Business will recruit businesses and manage program marketing, sign-ups, and participant selection. Applications are scheduled to open the month after the announcement, with the initial cohort beginning training in spring 2027.
