AMD enters physical AI with Ryzen AI Embedded X100 and Kria robotics platform
AMD introduced its first physical AI lineup at Advancing AI 2026, targeting robotics, industrial automation and other real-time embedded systems. The launch centers on three connected pieces: Ryzen AI Embedded X100 Series processors, the Kria AI system-on-module and Robotics Developer Platform, and the AMD Robotics Partner Network.
The Ryzen AI Embedded X100 series is based on AMD’s Strix Halo-class silicon and combines Zen 5 CPU cores, RDNA 3.5 graphics and an XDNA 2 NPU. The processors are tuned for embedded and robotics applications, where systems need local compute for sensing, control and AI workloads.
AMD is positioning its CPU, GPU, NPU and FPGA portfolio to support robotics capabilities from the robot body to the robot brain. The on-board FPGA is intended for low-latency, application-specific functions in mission-critical environments, giving developers a way to tailor hardware behavior for specialized deployments.
