Google launches Gemini 4 Argon and Genie 4

·1 min read

Google launched Gemini 4 Argon globally across AI Studio, Cloud and Search in October 2026, targeting complex reasoning and robotics. Gemini 4 Carbon followed two weeks later, with a focus on long-horizon engineering and cyber defense. Carbon is undergoing targeted pre-release testing with the U.S. government through the Fairwind Program.

Google also introduced Genie 4, which supports real-time world simulation steered by natural language and includes native audio. Integrated physics engines and audio enable interactive world generation through unified language controls, without separate rendering pipelines. The capabilities complement the physical reasoning offered by Gemini 4 Argon for Robotics.

Alongside the model releases, Google introduced the SynthID Detector for authenticating AI content. The announcements pair broadly deployed reasoning tools with restricted evaluation of sensitive cyber-defense capabilities, while adding public content-verification tools and expanding interactive simulation capabilities.
