Nvidia’s Huang urges Europe to build a full AI ecosystem
Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang urged Europe to develop its entire AI technology chain, from data centres to chatbots and other applications, during a visit to Stockholm. Speaking at an event late Thursday, he said every company would eventually become an AI company and every industry would be affected by the technology.
Nvidia has invested $8 billion in Europe over the past year, Huang said, targeting companies it believes can strengthen the region’s broader ecosystem. He cited British data centre and AI cloud provider Nscale and Dutch cloud provider Nebius as examples. He added that another couple of billion dollars was in the investment pipeline.
Huang visited Stockholm for the launch of Sferical One, a Swedish supercomputer using Nvidia chips designed to keep sensitive Swedish data and expertise within the country. During the visit, Volvo Cars also announced an expanded partnership with Nvidia to improve safety technology in its planned self-driving vehicles.
