Enterprise AI moves from chatbots into business workflows
More than 1 million business customers worldwide were using OpenAI’s products for business purposes by November 2025, reflecting a shift from standalone chatbots toward embedded enterprise tools. Companies are incorporating generative AI into software development, customer support, marketing, document processing and internal knowledge management, increasing demand for copilots, agents and platforms connected to existing applications.
DataM Intelligence valued the generative AI market at US$67.21 billion in 2025 and projects it will reach US$3,282.75 billion by 2035, growing at a CAGR of 47.53% during 2026-2035. North America accounted for approximately 42% of the market in 2025, while Asia-Pacific is projected to register the fastest growth, supported by digital transformation, national AI initiatives and local-language model investment.
Competition increasingly centers on production deployment rather than experimentation. Amazon Bedrock AgentCore provides infrastructure for operating enterprise agents, while Google’s Gemini Enterprise connects company information with agents and workplace processes. Buyers are prioritizing reliable outputs, predictable inference costs, data protection and integration with existing systems. Security, computing costs, privacy and regulatory compliance remain adoption constraints, making governance and demonstrable operational value important differentiators.
