Rapidus plans global chip development ecosystem

·1 min read

Rapidus Corporation plans to establish the Rapidus Collaborative Open Rapid Ecosystem, or Rapidus CORE, as a global framework for developing and mass-producing cutting-edge semiconductors.

The initiative is designed to bring more of the semiconductor value chain into a coordinated development and production infrastructure, spanning research institutions, EDA, IP, design and manufacturing. Rapidus says the broader ecosystem is needed as chip development increasingly depends on more than manufacturing technology alone.

Rapidus also points to a global shortage of advanced semiconductor talent as a reason to strengthen collaboration with design-related companies. The framework is intended to help customers begin development earlier while relying on a broader network of partners across the chip ecosystem.
