Dynatrace buys Arize to deepen AI observability
Dynatrace completed its $915 million acquisition of AI observability startup Arize on Oct. 1, 2026, adding model-tracing capabilities to its full-stack observability suite. The all-cash transaction includes Arize’s Phoenix tracing framework and OpenInference extensions, while financial details such as Arize’s ARR or revenue multiple were not disclosed.
The acquisition addresses a gap in traditional application monitoring as enterprises deploy LLMs and AI agents in production. Dynatrace said conventional telemetry can identify infrastructure failures but does not explain reasoning errors inside models or autonomous systems. Arize’s Signal and Alyx products trace model calls, evaluate outputs, and generate remediation pull requests.
Dynatrace plans to combine infrastructure, service, and model behavior data into a unified view for SRE, platform engineering, and AI engineering teams. The move also strengthens its position against observability rivals including Datadog, New Relic, and Splunk, while putting pressure on AI-observability specialists such as Evidently AI and Fiddler to expand or partner.
