NVIDIA adds agentic workflows to Isaac ROS 5.0
NVIDIA released Isaac ROS 5.0 at ROSCon in Toronto, adding agentic workflows and broader platform support to its GPU-accelerated robotics packages for the ROS open framework. The update supports ROS Lyrical and Ubuntu 24.04, and includes a standard data-handling interface contributed with the Open Source Robotics Alliance to help ROS software work efficiently across hardware including GPUs.
The release adds reusable NVIDIA Isaac skills for setup, manipulation and pick-and-place workflows, along with agent-ready documentation for AI agents. A FoundationStereo fine-tuning skill helps adapt stereo perception models to specific cameras and environments, while FoundationPose adds an agent-ready inference library for object pose estimation and tracking that can run up to 5.5x faster.
NVIDIA highlighted ecosystem integrations from AgenticROS, RealSense, Intrinsic, Seeed Studio, Magna, Prefix.dev, Foxglove, Flexiv, Ekumen, Ouster, Mentee Robotics, Universal Robots, ROBOTIS, FieldAI and Noble Machines. Isaac ROS 5.0 spans Jetson Orin Nano through Jetson Thor devices and is available now as a free, open source release on GitHub.
