Amazon Bedrock model catalog expands in 2026

·1 min read

Amazon Bedrock’s managed foundation model catalog has grown from a single-digit set of model families in late 2023 to a broad 2026 lineup spanning 18 providers and well over 110 individually addressable model variants. The catalog includes 40+ language and reasoning models, image generation and editing from Stability AI, speech and video models, embeddings, rerankers, and open-weight additions from providers including Google, OpenAI, Qwen, DeepSeek, Z.AI, Moonshot, MiniMax, and NVIDIA.

Model selection has become more operationally complex as Bedrock now supports In-Region, Geo, and Global inference routing tiers. Most modern models ship with at least one cross-Region inference profile, using prefixes such as us., eu., apac., jp., au., and global. Exact model IDs remain critical because Bedrock uses dated, revision-suffixed, suffix-less, dot-versioned, and double-namespace naming patterns across providers.

Claude Opus 4.7 leads the catalog at review time with a 1M context window and 128K output, while Amazon Nova 2 Lite, Meta Llama 4 Maverick, and Meta Llama 4 Scout also reach 1M context. Several older models have moved to Legacy status, including Nova Premier, Nova Canvas, Nova Reel, Nova Sonic, Titan Image Generator G1 v2, Claude 3 Haiku, Claude 3.5 Haiku, Cohere Command R, Cohere Command R+, and parts of the Llama 3.x family.
