DMV, Tripadvisor and Oracle Health focus on trust in production AI
California DMV, Tripadvisor and Oracle Health are deploying LLM-based systems in environments where errors can affect public services, travel planning and patient care. The DMV uses GenAI for custom license plate screening, fraud defense, document verification, chatbots, code generation and testing automation, while Tripadvisor is developing agentic commerce and a context graph for travel data. Oracle Health is building a unified data layer and memory fabric for clinical workflows, including patient prioritization.
The DMV serves 70 million in-person customers and 13 million online customers annually, processes 75 million transactions and collects $14 billion in revenue. Tripadvisor operates across 42 countries and 21 languages with 300 million monthly active users and 2 billion reviews and opinions. Oracle Health acquired Cerner in 2022 and is working on healthcare systems where recommendations must be transparent enough for clinicians to understand and act on them.
All three organizations treat trust as a production requirement, not a branding goal. Human-in-the-loop checks, A/B testing, limited rollouts, baseline comparisons, KPI dashboards, qualitative feedback and observability tools such as Arize, Grafana and Splunk are used to catch failures before they reach users.
Multi-agent workflows remain a difficult frontier because separate agents can optimize for narrow goals without improving the overall outcome. Oracle Health is exploring shared memory and tracing so agents can expose reasoning across workflows, particularly when clinical decisions require clear explanations.
