NVIDIA expands Japan AI partnerships across key industries

NVIDIA and partners in Japan are showcasing a broad AI ecosystem push across healthcare, life sciences, finance, quantum computing, mobility, robotics, smart spaces and gaming. In medicine, Tokyo-1 operator Xeureka continues to expand AI-powered drug discovery work with Eisai, Astellas, Daiichi Sankyo and Ono Pharmaceuticals using NVIDIA BioNeMo. Biomy achieved 90% faster spatial transcriptomics analysis with NVIDIA single-cell RAPIDS, while Canon and Fujifilm are shipping NVIDIA-accelerated CT systems.

For vision AI, NVIDIA Metropolis now includes more than 80 new skills across NVIDIA VSS Blueprint 3.2, DeepStream 9.1, TAO 7 and Physical AI Data Factory, helping developers speed production work by at least 6x. OMRON, Hitachi, Fujitsu, Shimizu, Asilla, AWL and Yazaki North America are applying the tools to industrial inspection, construction safety, retail, public spaces and infrastructure, including Hitachi HMAX rail applications that help reduce maintenance costs and energy consumption by 15%.

Japanese financial institutions are building AI factories and models with NVIDIA Nemotron and NVIDIA Agent Toolkit, including Mizuho, Japan Research Institute, Rakuten Bank and Ippu Senkin. RIKEN is starting operations on RIKYU with 1,600 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and ROQUO with 540 Blackwell GPUs, while a quantum chemistry workflow involving Mitsubishi Chemical, Mizuho Bank, Keio University, AIST, the University of Toronto and NVIDIA achieved a 13.4x speedup over CPU-only nodes.

Toyota is expanding work with NVIDIA across L2++ driver assistance, software engineering, factory simulation and urban traffic intelligence. SEGA is also bringing VIRTUA FIGHTER CROSSROADS and future titles to NVIDIA RTX Spark, extending a collaboration that began 30 years ago.
