Samsung adds 8 TB option to 9100 PRO SSD lineup

·1 min read

Samsung Electronics has expanded its consumer solid-state drive lineup with the 9100 PRO now available in capacities up to 8 TB. The drive uses a PCIe 5.0 interface and is positioned to deliver advanced performance and seamless multitasking productivity. Samsung highlights broad compatibility across laptops, gaming PCs, and game consoles, and says the higher capacities aim to support data-intensive applications and next-generation gaming experiences.

The company introduced two distinct 8 TB models: the 9100 PRO 8 TB and the 9100 PRO 8 TB with Heatsink. Samsung describes the heatsink-equipped variant as designed to improve thermal efficiency and maintain sustained peak performance under load. These additions follow the March launch of 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB versions and represent what Samsung calls its highest capacity PCIe SSD released to date.

Targeted users for the expanded lineup include gamers, content creators, and professionals who need larger local storage and reliable high-speed performance. Samsung frames the 8 TB options as ultra-high-capacity choices intended to combine top-tier speed with the reliability expected from its consumer SSD range. Availability details and pricing are not stated in the article.
