Wistron opens first U.S. smart factory in Fort Worth

Wistron has opened its D1 AI smart facility in Fort Worth, Texas, marking the company’s first U.S.-based manufacturing site and a new hub in its global AI infrastructure network. The US$ 700 million facility spans approximately 324,000 square foot and was unveiled at a ceremony led by Wistron Chairman Simon Lin and NVIDIA Founder and CEO Jensen Huang.

The Fort Worth site is where the first NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip was built and mass-produced in the United States. Wistron said the facility uses NVIDIA accelerated computing, NVIDIA Nemotron and Cosmos open frontier models, and Omniverse and Metropolis libraries, with digital twin technology supporting factory design, production workflows, and operational efficiency.

Lin described the operation as comprehensive and high-tech, saying Wistron is producing the NVIDIA GB300 Grace Blackwell Superchip at the site and will also produce the NVIDIA Vera Rubin Superchip there. Local and Taiwanese officials attended the opening, including Jessica Rogers of Fort Worth’s Economic Development Department and Alexander Tah-ray Yui, Taiwan’s Representative to the United States.
