Silicon Motion unveils MonTitan SSD design kit for agentic AI storage

Silicon Motion Technology Corporation unveiled the MonTitan SSD Reference Design Kit at FMS 2026, positioning the platform for enterprise storage systems supporting agentic AI infrastructure. The kit features the company’s next-generation patented PerformaShape technology and is designed to help enterprise SSDs operate as a persistent memory layer for KV cache offload and autonomous AI agents.

The company said agentic AI workloads place new demands on storage because AI agents continuously reason, act, retain context and interact with external tools. These workflows generate varied data types and rapidly changing access patterns, requiring enterprise SSDs to deliver high throughput, consistent latency, predictable QoS and endurance for sustained, write-intensive operations in AI data centers.
