SEMI sees 300 mm memory equipment spending rising

SEMI expects worldwide 300 mm fab equipment investment in the memory sector to reach a new high in 2026, supported by AI-driven demand for advanced memory. The latest 300 mm Fab Outlook projects spending growth of 29% in 2026, followed by another 11% increase in 2027, as investment continues to flow into AI infrastructure, data centers, and next-generation computing systems.

Longer term, global 300 mm fab equipment spending in memory is forecast to grow at a 19% CAGR from 2024 to 2029. Worldwide 300 mm memory capacity is also expected to expand, reaching 4.1 million wafers per month in 2026 and 4.2 million wafers per month in 2027.
