Reply launches Symbiosis to link business strategy with AI delivery
Reply has introduced Symbiosis, an operating model and supporting platform for enterprises integrating generative AI and agentic systems into their operations. It connects strategy, portfolio management and execution, helping organisations adjust priorities and investment decisions using evidence from delivery rather than relying solely on periodic reviews.
The model translates strategic objectives into defined business problems called Intents, each with a measurable target, ownership, boundaries and a timeframe. Small teams of people and AI agents, called Cells, test approaches through short execution and learning cycles. Results inform decisions about allocating resources, while people retain responsibility for strategic direction and investment.
The platform brings priorities, progress, risks and decisions into a shared environment. A shared intelligence layer called the Learning Mesh captures knowledge from execution and daily operations, including processes, logs and operational signals. It identifies recurring patterns and feeds insights into portfolio and strategy decisions.
Reply is applying Symbiosis to legacy application replacement in offshore energy, administrative work and community prehabilitation services with an NHS Trust, and software defect assessment in industrial machinery. In the machinery work, developers review and integrate changes proposed by AI agents. The operating model is openly available for organisations to read, adopt and adapt.
