Pika launches lower-cost API club for generative media

·1 min read

Pika has launched the Pika API Club, a membership program designed to lower the cost of using generative media models. The Lightspeed-backed AI video company says startups are now spending 40-50% of revenue on model inference, creating pressure on builders that rely on video, image, sound, and language tools.

The service is available at dev.pika.art for $10 a month and provides access to over 70 generative AI models, including Pika’s own, through a single API key. Pika says the platform is built to work with agents and LLMs and can be used inside vibecoding platforms.

Pika is positioning the club as a wholesale-style alternative to existing aggregators by cutting its margin to almost zero. The company says Seedance 2.0 runs up to 80% cheaper than Runway Dev and up to 2x cheaper than Fal.ai, while Kling 3.0 and GPT Image 2.0 are roughly 20% below Fal’s pricing. The company is also launching a savings calculator for developers to compare costs before signing up.
