NZXT launches N7 B850 Socket AM5 motherboard

·1 min read

NZXT announced the N7 B850 Socket AM5 motherboard in two trims: an all-black version and a two-tone white-and-black option. Both trims use black printed circuit boards, with the two-tone model applying a matte white finish across the front shrouding, the M.2 heatsink, the rear I/O shroud, and the VRM heatsinks. The board is built on the AMD B850 chipset, uses an 8-layer PCB with 2 oz copper layers, and draws power from a 24-pin ATX connector plus two 8-pin EPS connectors. NZXT specified a 16+2+1 phase CPU voltage regulator module with 80 A DrMOS on all phases.

The N7 B850 supports Socket AM5 processors and four DDR5 DIMM slots for up to 256 GB of memory at speeds up to DDR5-8000. For expansion it offers one PCI-Express 5.0 x16 slot and two M.2 NVMe Gen 5 slots. There is a third M.2 slot that runs at Gen 4 x4 speeds and is wired to the B850 FCH. The board includes two additional physical x16 slots that are electrically x4 and x1; the electrical x4 slot shares lanes with the third M.2 slot.

As with other NZXT motherboards, the N7 B850 supports the company’s NZXT CAM standard for PC real-time monitoring, fan control, and lighting control. The article does not state pricing or availability details.
