Nvidia supplier Unimicron faces probe over China-made parts

Taiwanese prosecutors are investigating Unimicron, a key supplier to Nvidia and Intel, over allegations that the company falsely relabeled China-made parts as originating in Taiwan. The inquiry centers on potential violations of laws against origin laundering, a sensitive issue for technology supply chains that depend on accurate sourcing and compliance documentation.

Unimicron is one of the world’s top chip substrate and printed circuit board makers, with customers that include Nvidia, Intel, Google and Amazon. Shares fell 10% as the investigation into the Taiwan-based supplier became public, adding pressure to a company positioned deep inside the electronics and semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem.
