Hippo rolls out Claude and AI tools company-wide

·1 min read

Hippo Holdings Inc. has expanded access to AI tools, including Anthropic’s Claude, across every business function as part of a broader push to embed AI in its operations. The deployment follows earlier efforts in service, claims and software development, and gives employees general-purpose assistance for research, writing and analysis.

An internal employee survey found that in the first 30 days, more than 90% of employees reported using Claude and Hippo’s other AI tools. The same survey found 86% used the tools multiple times per week and 60% used them daily. Hippo also reported that 60% of employees said they saved two or more hours a week, while 20% said they saved five to ten hours weekly.

The rollout extends to teams including underwriting, claims, marketing and sales, while Hippo says judgment and decision-making remain with employees such as underwriters and claims adjusters. Actuarial and insurance product teams are using AI to research regulatory changes, conduct competitive research and analyze program performance, while audit teams are applying AI to support more frequent and detailed claims reviews.
