Evernote offers free AI tool for structured notes
Evernote’s free AI notes generator converts transcripts, documents and draft text into structured notes. Its demo accepts PDF, audio, video, images and text, with prompts for summaries, meeting minutes, flashcards, timelines and comparisons. Users can paste or attach material in Evernote’s AI Assistant, select a template and review the generated results before saving and tagging them.
For meetings, the assistant can extract decisions and tasks, assign owners when names or emails are available, and suggest due dates. Action items can be formatted for CSV export and imported into calendars or trackers. Speaker labels, participant rosters and brief context descriptions help improve attribution. When ownership is unclear, the assistant can mark tasks as Unassigned or provide a confidence score for review.
Templates can be customized inside Evernote notebooks, and generated notes remain editable. AI generation typically requires an internet connection, although templates and prompts can be prepared offline. Limitations include sensitivity to input quality, variable performance across languages and incorrect owner or date extraction when context is incomplete. Users are advised to verify facts, owners and dates, and to process very long documents in sections before combining the results.
